Ellie Stats

We went to the doctor today for Ellie's check up. Poor thing had 4 shots. Other than the expected crying, she does not seem to be bothered at all. Here are the stats:

Weight 10#6.4 oz (50th percent)
Length 23 3/4 inches (95th percent)

The doctor was impressed with her strength. She put Ellie on her tummy and Ellie used her feet to pick up her bottom. She also showed how well she can get her head up. She has not rolled over in a couple of weeks, but I don't leave her on her stomach all that often.

Over all it was a very good report.

In the picture above you can see how she is trying to get her hands in her mouth. She will take a pacifier, but I think she is going to ditch it when she can get her thumb or a finger regularly.

Macie's Dance Recital

Back on May 15th, Macie had her very first dance recital. She took tap and ballet this year at a cute little studio. Each week they read a story and act it out. They do a little ballet and tap. It won't make her a professional dancer, but she loves it. Here are a few photos from the event.

She is already excited about next year. I am glad that a lot of the little girls from this year will be back in her class next year!

Two Months

It's me Ellie again checking in to tell you all I am now 2 months old! It looks like I am going to have to take over all the writing on this blog because Mommy has hardly been here in the last month! She never even came back to tell you my one month stats. (I weighed 9#5.6 oz-50th percent and I was 23 inches long-95th percent) I don't go to the doctor for my 2 month check up for another week, but Mommy tried to weigh me and thinks I am about 10 1/2 pounds. Maybe she will let you know before I am 3 months old what we find out!

This has been another busy month for me. I spend most of my mornings at swim team practice. I go back to the pool a lot. I sleep through a lot of it, but I wake up to make things more fun for Mommy. This past weekend I even got to go into the water. I heard lots of people saying it was like bath water. I have also been to a couple of swim meets. My brother is a good swimmer! Maybe Mommy will tell you about that some time.

This month I also went on my first trip. We all went to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins in NC. I got to see some big boys play baseball. And, I had my first visit to the beach. I slept for a while, but I really like hanging on the towel with my cousin BB. I did great in the car. We also went to the berry farm and picked strawberries and blueberries.

This week I have been going to VBS. I am not really suppose to be in the nursery yet because I have not had my shots. But, they are letting me hang out in there this week. One lady is giving me lots of cuddles while Mommy works up in the snack room.

Mommy is making me wear size 2 diapers now. She ran out of size 1 and had size 2 in the house. She did not want to go buy any more 1s so she moved me up. I show her every now and then though by letting a few things leak out. I just can't help it if I have skinny little legs.

I am a great sleeper. I moved to my big girl crib in my own room this past week. I guess I like it down there. I sleep between 6 and 9 hours at night. If we are home I will also take good naps in my crib, but we don't stay home all that much. I only sleep good if I am swaddled up really tight.
