Guilt and bows and fabric sweeper

Carson is on a field trip today. It is the first one he has gone on without me. I am suffering from a little bit of mamma guilt. It is particularly crazy since I allowed him to choose. He wanted to ride in Grant's car with the other boys. But, I still feel a little bad for not going without a good reason. (loading my photo shop on my computer that I got for my birthday just doesn't seem like a good reason)

I am also very excited about a deal I found on eBay. I found 10 bows for 18 dollars. It you have ever been in the market for hair bows you know this is a good deal! And, I got to choose the colors I wanted. If you need some let me know and I will pass along the info.

Some of you know I am a Buzz Agent. I get to try thing for free in hopes I will tell others how great the product is. I recently go a pledge fabric sweeper. It is suppose to pick up pet hair off of furniture. Our cat doesn't shed badly, but she always leaves her dark grey hair on the beige dining room chairs. This things works great and is easy. I have become obsesses with cleaning the hair off as soon as she sits in the chair. If you have pets, I highly recommend it. If you are going to see me, I have coupons I can give you too!

Christmas gifts, Colors and Recycling

I have a few seconds alone. Carson invited himself into a friends, and Macie is (was) asleep. I thought I could get an update in, but Macie woke up. Maybe Dora will buy me a few more minutes.

For Christmas Carson got a Big Wheel. The real 1970s kind. I saw it in Target in November and talked him into asking Santa for it. It has been a huge hit. He hardly rides his bike any more. Most of the other Christmas presents are blending in with everything else, but he loves his Big Wheel!

Macie got an American Girl Bity baby for Christmas from SueSue. We named her Suzy since she came from SueSue. But, Macie doesn't seem to like it. She calls the doll Baby Jesus. I am not sure what to think about this! It seems a little wrong to have such a materialistic thing named after our Saviour. This is an aweful picture, buy you can see Jesus.

In other news, it looks like Macie has finally learned most of her colors. We have been working on it for a long time and all she would get is pink. One day last week, she started getting most of them. She still can not get red and green though.

Carson is talking about saving the world in school this week. They had to bring in 2 things they think can be recycled. This was easy for him since we have a recycle bin we put out each week. When I asked him what he wanted to take he said "Mommy, I noticed today that my lunchables container can be recycled. I saw it had one of those little triagles." I guess they are doing a good job teaching them. This is one of the first units he is coming home and telling me all about.

Macie is now in my lap, so that is all for today!

Busy saving money

I have long said that medical insurance and doctor visits drive me crazy. I am very grateful that we have good insurance coverage, but it seems I have to keep a close eye on everything or it does not get paid correctly. The last couple of days, I have spent getting things fixed again. First Carson's dentist sent us a bill with over 70 of "previous balance." When I took the time to call and question them about it, I actually only owed them $16. Then today I had to deal with another bill from one of my doctor visits. I started trying to get it fixed back in December. I have called probably 5 times. Yesterday, the medical billing office sent me back to the doctors office. But, when I called the doctors office today, she said the insurance rep at the billing office needs to get it fixed. She is going to try to get it worked out for me. But, I have a final notice on a bill I have been trying to take care of for almost 3 months.

To top it off, our water bill this month was more than double the usual fee. I had to call them to figure out what was going on with that. It several phone calls to get a person. Once I did, I must have a leak because the water was going somewhere. After investigating myself, I discovered the meter reader had read the meter wrong. Today, three weeks after the meter was read, we are still 3, 000 gallons below what he read. So, I had to call back and have them send another reader out. Then, I have to call back to figure out what I actually own. Of course it will still be much higher than it would have been if he had done it correctly in the first place.

Does anyone else feel like you spend hours of you life trying to keep from paying more money than you owe? I swear it might drive me bats!

A few pictures from the last few weeks.

When even Jeff notices I have not updated in a while, I know it is time. So here are some pictures.

We celebrated Jeff's birthday with presents and cake. My cake looks ugly, but it tasted good. Since we have had many 30 somthing birthdays, we have a multitude of "3" candles, but I had to make up the 4.
Carson decided this year, he would make Valentine Cards for his friends. I learned through the process that I could never teach little kids. The uneven letters and words split between to lines would drive me crazy. Not to mention it took us days to get the 16 cards done.

Saturday we got to celebrate Caroline's 1st birthday. She is just the cutest thing. Carson adores her. He even said he was going to marry her when he grows up. (Well he answered Yes when I asked if he wanted to marry her when he gets bigger!)

Jeff works from home a couple days a week if he can. One day when he was home, this is how I found Macie after her nap. I guess she stuck her arm up through the neck of her shirt.

Happy Birthday Jeff

I am overdue for an update, but today is too busy. But, Carson, Macie and I wanted to say "Happy Birthday Daddy."
