Camps

Last week the kids were both in camp. Carson was in Safety Town. It is a great camp for rising Kindergarteners in our county. They learn about all sorts of safety-water, poison, fire, bike, school bus, stranger and many others. On stranger day they bring someone in to try to give the kids candy and lewer them away. Almost all of the kids go with the stranger, but all of Carson's group ran away and looked for help. Carson loved it, but he was scared on several occasions. He was afraid of the emergency on the bus and the driver was not so nice to him. Then he was also scared in the burning house. They have a trailer they bring and fill with fake smoke. The kids have to get out by crawling under the smoke and feeling for hot and cold doors. He could not tell me what scared him, but his teen helper had to really encourage him to make it through. They get a certificate at the end of the week, but they have to complete all the tasks. He made it, but only with some help.

This is a picture of one of the buildings in the little town they have set up. The kids get to ride big wheels through the town and learn about safety signals and helmet fitting. The even get red tickets for traffic violations.

Mean while Macie and Addison went to Dance Imagination camp. They got to dress like princesses and dance all morning. They loved it and looked adorable in their tutus when we picked them up. On the first day of camp, one of the girls was taking Macie to the bathroom. When they got Maice undressed, she saw that her pull up was wet (I sent her in a pull up since she was wearing a leotard and did not know the people who she would have to get to help her). The teacher told Macie to stay there and went to get a dry one. When she came back, Macie was not there. She went into the room to ask on of the other teachers if they knew where she went. There was Macie, dancing around with all the other little ones with out a stich of clothing!
They had a great week. It was the last of our plans for the summer. We have people coming to town, but we will spend the rest of the summer being lazy. I am sure we will go to the pool even more than we already have been going. I want to take Carson to Six Flags and White Water too. It is going to be August 3rd before we know it and he will be in school all day.

Potty Training Update

This picture has nothing to do with the post, but I also know post are more fun with a picture.
I know you have all been dying to hear an update on Macie's potty training. After staying somewhat close to home for a few weeks, we are having a good bit of success. She spent a lot of time running around without clothes. She would take her self to the little potty-and tell me "get out mommy." Last week we started taking a few quick trips out in panties with out any problems. Sunday was the first big test. We went to church in "big girl panties." I was just as worried about the drive as making it through church. She made it! This week we went to Bible school every day. Monday when I picked her up, she was in a different outfit. But, she got wet from water on the playground. All week, she fell asleep in the car and continued her nap at home without a single accident. She has had a couple accidents this week at home, but I am very pround her. I think in another couple of weeks we might even let her give up pull ups at night!

Now, if I can just get her to sleep again, I will be happy!

Troy Pictures

I still don't like his name all that much, but we are adjusting to having a kitten in the house. Even Smokey seems to like him a little. When Jeff stepped in him this morning, Troy seemed to run to find Smokey. There is still some hissing, but it is much better than when we brought Smokey home to Cali.

Pirate art and Soccer Camp

The first week of June, Carson went to art camp again. He went at the end of summer last year and loved it. So, we signed up again this summer. This year, the session had a Pirate theme. And, after art camp there was soccer camp in the afternoon. He had lots of fun with Carter, Connor, Eli, and Asher. The last day, they have an art show to show us what they made. Somehow, I only have a picture of his pirate ship. (If you ask him the parts of the ship, he can tell you all of them)

Macie also went to camp at the Y that week. But, I don't have any pictures. This week we will be at VBS. Carson went a few days last week with a buddy. But, we are looking forward to VBS at our church. I am hoping Macie will sleep past 6 in the morning and have a good week too.

Last Day of School

The kids finished school several weeks ago, but I have been slow at posting pictures. Carson's last week, he had several fun days. They took a field trip to go bowling, the had bike day, they had field day (rather than water day because it was chilly that week). The last day, they just spent time as a class having fun. I was working in the baby room that day, so I got a few pictures on the play ground.


This is just before we left. It makes me a little sad because it will be 3 more years before they are leaving for school at the same time.Macie on the the play ground.


They preschool has several different playgrounds. But, they are all close together. The kids were on two different playgrounds, but they could still see and talk to each other.
This is Macie and Addie in their classroom. Notice Macie's hair is looking terrible by this point in the day.
We are already missing school, but we are having fun at the pool. I think we have been everyday since Memorial Day.

Neighborhood Excitment

This is what you expect to see at the neighborhood pool in the summer. But, take a close look in the background. This was the scene in the parking lot for almost a week.





The end of May brought some excitement to our neighborhood. We were chosen as a location shot for a movie filming in town. Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher and Tom Selleck are all in the movie and spent several days just a few feet from us at the pool. I was too busy watching my children to star watch, but I know a lot of people who talked to Ashton.

The filming took place at night. I stopped by and got a couple of shots of the lights before I was told not to take pictures. The scene involves a chase and crashing into fences. It was not really close to our house, but it was still a little exciting. I think we would have hated it being any closer because the lights we very bright.

Not me Monday

If you follow MckMamma, you know all about not me Monday. If not, head over to her site and read all about it. This is my first try, but this morning got me on board. This one will be short, but maybe I will get better with time.

I am not completely over potty training. I have not thought this week that it just might be okay to keep Macie in diapers until all of her friends are making fun of her and she decides on her own she is done with them. Because she certainly does not have it physically and where she goes potty does not depend on her attitude and mood. Not me, and not my precious little girl

This morning, I certainly did not find that my daughter wants to be a cat. I did not hesitate a moment when her brother yelled from the other room that Macie had poopy in her panties. My daughter certainly would not be walking around the house with out clothes, so it would never be a problem that he knew she had gone potty. And, I did not go into the living room to find that Macie had pooped in the litter box. (Thankfully she managed to do this with out having any litter on her at all)

I did not threaten to send Carson's new kitten back where we got him. I did not try to make my son feel guilty about not cleaning the litter box when he and his daddy are suppose to do it every day! I never make threats I don't intend to keep.
