Birthday pictures

Last Friday, the 15th, we had a little party for Macie's birthday. If you know me, you know I struggle with birthday parties. I don't want to exclude anyone or cause hurt feelings, but I also don't want to invite the whole world just to invite them. This year, I decided I needed to do what was best for Macie. So, we had a party with 3 other little girls. We also invited Connor since he was the only of the older boys not in school. We let Carson come home from school for the party as well. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Macie wanted a Dora party. When the guests arrived they all got a map explaining their day.

The first stop was "Play-do Plaza" This is all of the girls playing. Clockwise from the top, Macie, Kaitlyn, Addison, and Megan.

The next two stops were the "Lunch Counter" for a meal of Dora Soup and Grilled cheese sandwiches. Then they went to crafty corner and made butterflies out of tissue paper and paper towel tubes. I did not have any great pictures, so you will have to use your imagination.

The final stop after the girls all dressed up like princesses and played for a little while was Birthday cake bash. How cute did her cake turn out? The lady who made her Minnie cake last year made this one as well. She bakes cakes and gives all of the proceeds to cancer research.
Everyone sang Happy Birthday
And then she blew out her candles. This was the only time we actually saw the boys during the party.
Then it was time to go home and take naps. But, first everyone got a book. The girls got Dora books and the boys the coloring book.
Thanks everyone for making Macie's little party fun for her. I am sure next year, we will be back to big parties with all of her school friends! I can not believe the sweet girl is 3!

Roar

This is what Macie looked like on Monday when we picked her up from the gym! She wanted to wash her face when we got home, but she looked cute while it lasted. The kids club really does make it fun for the kids.

I am working on getting the pictures organized from my new camera. I uploaded all the pictures tonight, but I did it with photoshop. For some reason, half the pictures loaded with lines across them. I have had the problem before, but I do not know why it happens. Any ideas?

Baby Update

We are almost to 27 weeks in this pregnancy. I have to admit that I signed up for the Baby Center updates just to keep up with the number of weeks! Even getting an email every week, I still have to stop and think about what it said. People ask every time they see me how I am feeling, so I thought I would give an update.

First, no we have not opened the envelope to see if it is a boy or girl I do not plan to do it, so you will have to wait until the baby gets here. We still think it is a girl, but both Jeff and I have had a dream that the baby is a boy. I really thought Carson was a girl until I had a dream he was a boy. Of course the ultra sound confirmed that he was indeed a he! Maybe God is just trying to put a little bit more of the surprise in it.

I am measuring ahead of where I should be at this point. The last time I was at the doctor she wanted me to schedule another ultra sound to check the size. I am waiting until I see the mid wife to make the appointment. I measured ahead with Macie also. Since I never saw this doctor with Macie, I decided to get the opinion of the one who followed me with Macie. I suspect, I will end up having another one, but we might wait a couple weeks to see what happens.

The baby is still moving around. I think I actually have a bruise on the inside from being kicked. Macie climbed in my lap over the weekend and touched the spot. It was very painful. I don't know if it is because the placenta is under the baby or what, but I feel a lot of moving around. I don't think there is much down time.

I feel okay, but certainly not great. I am already over being pregnant and feel certain I will be complaining a lot over the next several weeks. I am tired most of the time. Yesterday I took a long nap and was still ready for bed at 8:00. It is hard for me to get all the stuff done around here that need to be done. I feel huge and wonder what I will be feeling in a few weeks. I still have mornings when I am thorwing up. It is usually related to the gunk in my chest. I will leave it at that! In the grad scheme of things I am doing fine, but I have no desire to do this another time!

2010

Happy New Year to everyone! We spent the evening with some of our neighborhood friends having great food and fun fellowship. We made an effort to keep all the kids in the basement, but that did not work out as well as we would have liked. But, with 9 kids the oldest being 6 1/2 and Macie being the youngest at almost 3, we did fairly well. We are really blessed to have great friends in our neighborhood.

I learned in 2008, that we never know what the new year is going to bring for us. I was sitting down at the computer to write a blog about my new year resolutions when I got the call that changed all of that. Instead, this is the what I blogged. God has worked through my mom's accident, but it certainly changed many things about our lives. This year we will pray for the best and hope that we live a life that is pleasing to God. Really what more can we hope for in a new year.

After we get all of Christmas down I hope to get some pictures off the camera and organized.
