Birthday pictures

Last Friday, the 15th, we had a little party for Macie's birthday. If you know me, you know I struggle with birthday parties. I don't want to exclude anyone or cause hurt feelings, but I also don't want to invite the whole world just to invite them. This year, I decided I needed to do what was best for Macie. So, we had a party with 3 other little girls. We also invited Connor since he was the only of the older boys not in school. We let Carson come home from school for the party as well. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Macie wanted a Dora party. When the guests arrived they all got a map explaining their day.

The first stop was "Play-do Plaza" This is all of the girls playing. Clockwise from the top, Macie, Kaitlyn, Addison, and Megan.

The next two stops were the "Lunch Counter" for a meal of Dora Soup and Grilled cheese sandwiches. Then they went to crafty corner and made butterflies out of tissue paper and paper towel tubes. I did not have any great pictures, so you will have to use your imagination.

The final stop after the girls all dressed up like princesses and played for a little while was Birthday cake bash. How cute did her cake turn out? The lady who made her Minnie cake last year made this one as well. She bakes cakes and gives all of the proceeds to cancer research.
Everyone sang Happy Birthday
And then she blew out her candles. This was the only time we actually saw the boys during the party.
Then it was time to go home and take naps. But, first everyone got a book. The girls got Dora books and the boys the coloring book.
Thanks everyone for making Macie's little party fun for her. I am sure next year, we will be back to big parties with all of her school friends! I can not believe the sweet girl is 3!

AWESOME cake! And, I'm with you on small celebrations. I actually like small, more intimate (less stress) gatherings for little ones that haven't a clue about big bday parties. I think your party was adorable and perfect for a cute little 3 year old like Macie!
