We are about 9-10 weeks away from needing all our baby gear again. As much as I am over pregnancy (FOREVER), we really are not ready for this baby to be living in our house. I figure if we go to the hospital without being prepared someone will bring me a car seat and help Jeff install it! I can talk someone into bringing the cradle up from our basement and find some kind of clothing to wear home. Jeff is not going to let that happen I am sure. We are talking about working on Carson's room this weekend, so we can move on to the baby room. I guess the nice thing about #3 and having everything is you don't have to work so hard to get ready.
I do have a question for those of you with children younger than Carson. This weekend Babys R Us is having a trade in deal. If you take and old car seat, stroller or other gear to the store, you can trade it in for 25% off a new item. I have really thought about getting a new infant seat. Ours is 6 years old, and they have changed a lot since then and they technically expire after 5 years. The height limit on ours is only 24 inches. Most of them now go much higher. Our kids have out grown the infant carrier long before 6 months old. Since we have 2 travel systems at this point, this seams like the perfect chance to get rid of the old.
So, if you have had a baby in the last few years, tell me about your infant car seat/carrier. What are the pros and cons? Would you buy the same one again? I have done a little research. I like the way the Chicco base attaches to the LATCH. It has the same fasteners as the Britax convertibles we have used. I love how easy it is to install and tighten. We have used the Graco and not had many complaints for the short time we were able to use it. I am open, so let me know what you think.

We have the Graco SnugRide 32. It is really good...it can be used to 32 inches or 30 pounds. We have also gotten the Sunshine Kids Radian XT. This convertible seat allows a child to sit rear facing to 40 pounds and forward face to 80 with a 5 point harness. I goes from 5 pounds to 80. It is also braced for side impact, etc. I really liked the SnugRide for early days when I could use it as a carrier, too. Now, I LOVE the Radian. It has such a narrow base that you could put 3 in the back seat of a car with no troubles. I don't know if BRU has the Radian or not, but it was well worth the money.
We also have the Graco SnugRide Safe Seat. It got the best reviews when I bought it back in 07 for Bryce. And, thank goodness it goes up to 32 inches and 30 lbs (although there's no way a 30lb kid could fit in that thing) since Bryce was huge. Bryce was out of it at 4 months and Dawson stayed in it until just a few weeks ago (right about 10 months). The base of it also has latch, so it's easy to put the base in/out of the car. And, I loved that it could fit on the snap-n-go stroller (which you're welcome to borrow). I hate, hate, hate carry that thing around. It's too big/bulky and heavy, especially when you have other kids to keep up with. My sister has Radians for her 3 kids to go into the backseat of her Camry, but I'm very partial to Britax, so all mine are Britax Marathon and we just bought Bryce a Britax Frontier.
