Summer is here!

We are trying to keep ourselves busy and have some fun. We have gotten Carson into the summer reading program at the library. He loves to read so this is not a difficult thing to do with him. It is making him choose different books to read. He tends to get into his favorites and only read a couple over and over. He is also really into reading stories from his Bible.

We have been trying to go to the gym, but I must admit it does not always happen. I was scolded today for my lack of results! I am sure it has nothing to do with all the bites of kids food I take during the day. My kids would love to snack 24 hours a day and never eat a meal.

I am trying to keep Carson's TV time to a minimum this summer. While I believe he does learn things from most of the shows he watches, I don't think it is good for him to sit and watch hours of television. Honestly, I am the one having more trouble with the limits. It is much easier for me to stick him in front of the TV while I try to get things done. Especially if Macie is sleeping. When the TV is off, I have to entertain him. And, he has been getting up super early lately.

Of course we are spending some time at the pool. We go for a little while almost every day. The kids both love it and it burns energy. If we go in the morning, Macie takes great naps. I have not had a chance to take pictures yet. With two of them, I don't get to hang on the side of the pool and snap pictures. Carson is being brave and going down the water slide. His swimming is progressing, but he does not like to push his limits. Macie is of course a little crazy. She will sit in the baby float for a little while, but mostly she wants to splash around. She now has a backpack/bubble flotation thing. It doesn't keep her head out of the water, but it will keep her from sinking. And, it allows her to "swim".

Dad is still working on the play ground. He hopes to have the tower and slide ready before he leaves town. He is getting close. It is taking awhile because he is building it from scratch rather than a kit. He has to cut all the lumber and make all the plans.

Until I have time to organize pictures with a good update here are a few to entertain.

Carson and the neighborhood boys enjoying a treat! We were at a last minute party thrown by a neighbor!

A few pictures of my sleeping girl.

This is how she sleeps almost all the time. Her little feet at always sticking out of the bed. It doesn't matter if she is sleeping on her stomach or back!

After the zoo last Wednesday, this is her in the parking space. I turned around to back out and she was already asleep!

that's how i get dinner made - thomas on tv. he doesn't even move off of the little floor pillow when it's on. i can go upstairs and put the laundry in the dryer and he doesn't even notice. but the weekends are harder when we're here all day. i would have a hard time with that too. now that walter's here in the evenings, he can keep him occupied for me too.

I love the pictures of Macie's feet sticking out of the crib - that is hysterical. Ok so tell me about this floaty thing that you have for Macie. Megan really could care less about her little floating boat anymore so I'm looking for something else to help keep her afloat in the water. I can't be more than an arms length from her anyhow because she sticks her head in the water and scares the daylights out of me.

Macie cracks me up with her sleeping pictures! It sounds like they are going to have lots of fun summer memories at the pool and with the neighborhood kids.
