You may recall that I got a copy of Photoshop elements for my birthday. I don't have time to sit down and play with it, so I have not been able to figure most of it out. But, I followed the directions from
MckMama and made an attempt at blurring the background. It doesn't look great. But, I don't think it looks too bad for my first attempt. So, what do you think?

I think the technique looks good, but I like the crispness of the sky in the 1st picture. So, I think I prefer the original.
I read that yesterday and thought there was no way I could do it, but wanted to tell you to go read it. It sounded like something you could do. I agree with Rene', that for this picture, I prefer the first one; but you take such clear pictures, that with most of your pictures, I'll bet this will really make them look great.
Good job with the blurring effect!
i actually like the 2nd picture better. good job!
i got it for christmas (or was it my bday???) and have only been able to do a few little things. mostly i play with the contrast/shadows and sharpen. and of course crop.
I like both. i think blurry backgrounds look really awesome for portait pictures...like your header. There is a way to make the blurry part blend in ti the edges more. pioneer woman did a tutorial awhile ago on it. her site has great, easy tutorials, too.
