Why buy a video monitor
Because if you have a child like Macie, they will play opposum long enough to get out of a nap! Today, I thought she was asleep for about 30 minutes. Then I went upstairs and looked at the monitor. She was busy trying to get her sock off her foot. A few minutes later, she started fussing. I would have chalked it up to a short nap (She took a long one this morning) if I had not seen her! I could also tell she had dropped her frog out of her bed. When I went in to give it back to her, I could also tell she was poopy. So, she got a fresh diaper and finally went to sleep.

We LOVE our video monitor. Got it at a garage sale for next to nothing, but it's worth a zillion bucks in my opinion.
I have always said, if I had to do it again, I would've gotton a video monitor. That's what I've been looking for at the consignment sales.
We got one at Big Lots for $40 over Christmas and couldn't believe what we saw when we set it up. Samuel was standing in the crib during his "nap". He was quiet, so without the video monitor, I never would
have known. Now there are times that I go up there to remind him that it's time for bed. I will tell you what I like best of all though. When I hear him waking up, I watch him and give him time before I go up. There are times that he will go back to sleep. From the sound alone, I would have gone in, but with the video monitor, he has gotten extra sleep.
I almost forgot that I was able to "check" on Samuel in the middle of the night when he had his stomach bug. I set my alarm some to make sure to see that he was asleep and fine. All of that without leaving the comfort of my bed...
I am keeping my eye out for another one at Big Lots. I want one for Vance too...
