Just a spoonful of sugar...

When I got Macie's antiiotic the other day, the pharmacist suggested I give it to her with chocolate milk. She is one the generic Biaxin and it is really gritty. Most kids have a hard time taking it because the little specks of the antibiotic hand out in their mouth. They are suppose to be really bitter. So, the pharmacist said to coat her mouth with chocolate to get the taste out. Let me tell you it has worked like a charm. Macie gets her 1/2 teaspoon of medicine followed by a tiny piece of a Hersey bar. (We did not have chocolate for milk-so I broke a snack size Hersey bar into 16 pieces). She is excited as soon as she sees the medicine come out. I guess the Sound of Music song was right!
